Our college choir had an exciting term 2 which culminated in performing at the BIG SING Choral Showcase at the Town Hall. Leading up to the event they were treated to choral workshops with experts Rachel Sutherland and Simon Matāfai.
The choir sang beautifully at the event, receiving a Commended award for their performance. Well done girls! A huge thank you to Ms Liu for your tireless efforts in preparing the girls for this.
The Big Sing has been taking place for over 30 years and is New Zealand’s largest choral event with singers entering regional competitions held in Auckland, Waikato/Bay of Plenty, East Coast, Taranaki, Manawatu/Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough/Nelson, Canterbury/West Coast, Otago and Southland.
Of the 200+ competing choirs, 60 will be selected for the area Cadenza festivals (held in the Upper North Island, Lower North Island and South Island) and National Finale.
